PMR?: If your ESR is that high I would ask about a condition called Polymyalgia Rheumatica. If that is the cause and the diagnosis then prednisone is an appropriate therapy.

Wrong focus: High sed rate not a disease per se. It is an indication of inflammation in the body and the underlying cause of elevated sed rate needs to be addressed. Self medication with prednisone is not a good idea. You may wish to consult a rheumatologist for investigation of inflammation that may not be obvious.

Don't treat yourself: A TIA won't raise sed rate, certainly not to 90. Such a very high level usually indicates severe systemic inflammation, typically a rheumatologic or autoimmune disorder (especially polymyalgia rheumatica, AKA giant cell arteritis) or sometimes severe infection, malignancy, etc. Some of these problems could cause TIA. Don't treat yourself; best Rx depnds on exact diagnosis. Work with your doctor.
