What's ur VitD level: Your clinician should check a 25-OH vitamin D level, as vitamin D deficiency can cause secondary hyperparathyroidism. If normal, your clinician should order an ultrasound of the neck to assess for parathyroid adenomas, - if +, then a head and neck surgery referral would be appropriate. If -, then an endocrinology referral would be indicated. Take care.
