A member asked:

Calcium level and pth has been up and down since july.saw an endocrinologist, latest tests are cal 10.4,iod.cal 5.7, pth 27,alb 4.7,phos 2.7, meaning?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normal: Hi. Your total calcium corrects to normal considering your albumin. All other labs are normal, except that ionized calcium, which just outside the normal range. Your mid-normal PTH is very suggestive of no significant calcium pathology. I've seen vacillating PTH and calcium. I'm not sure what causes that, but there could be several possibilities. But you're good for now. Good luck!
