Anatomy v physiology: Normally, the heart is in the middle, but because the left ventricle is larger; the heart appears to be more toward the left. There is something called dextrocardia where the heart is actually flipped around and is on the right side (not the norm), but that's not to say that you can't live a normal life with it. Just be sure to tell your doctors so they know why your ekg looks funny!
