Probably safe: Just a positive blood test for HSV1, right? Without any symptoms of oral or genital herpess? If so, there is little risk to your partner. 20-50% of adults in the US have postive HSV1 tests and most don't transmit the virus to anyone. If you ever have a possible outbreak (an otherwise unexplained oral or genital sore), don't expose your partner at that time. Otherwise don't worry about it.
