Yes, but: why would you want to? General anesthesia is just as safe, if not safer than regional or spinal anesthesia. Modern anesthesia drugs leave no hangover and you awaken quickly. I've had both types in the past 10 years and prefer general. Recovery from lap appy under general is faster than open. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!
