If today is the ...: 1st postoperative day after your appendectomy, you will understandably have pain from your incision(s), even if you are doing great. If you are still in the hospital, your surgeon should have ordered some pain meds for the nurses to give. If you are home, he/she should have recommended or prescribed some oral meds, such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or narcotic-acetaminophen combination.
