Post-op shivering: Shivering causes after anesthesia include: room temperature fluids given via ivs tend to cool your body. Anesthetics affect your central temperature control, making it more like the ambient temperature, thus when you recover, your body rewarms by shivering. Or temp. Is usually cooler, also contributing to the overall cooling effect. So when you arrive in recovery shivering can occur.

Shivering: Shivering is common following general anesthesia. The volitle anesthetics interfere with the body's temperature regulation and results in shivering.
