No...: The caloric content of rice is based on it's dry weight. My sources say that 1/4 cup of raw brown rice is 171 calories; twice that much, or 1/2 cup, would be 342 calories. Because rice absorbs so much water, the volume when cooked increases dramatically, but that water doesn't add additional calories. If you add butter or oil to the water, though, you need to count that. Good wishes:)

Calories=cooked: Measure the product after it is cooked for accurate calorie information. Cooking only adds water, btw, it doesn't affect the nutritional value. If you use parboiled rice or parboil it yourself, the glycemic index goes down a bit (the extent to which your blood sugar rises), which is a good thing.
