Doesn't fill you up: If you are on a restricted calorie diet, other foods will help you feel full with a lot less calories. Bread and rice offer a lot of calories which convert quickly to sugar in the body. Then you are hungry again. Whole fresh fruit and vegetables offer a lot more nutritional value and are more slowly digested.
