A member asked:

I have pcos and only get my period about every 2 months. is this ok or should i consider the bc pill?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May be: As long as you are having an ovulatory period every 2 months you don't need to worry about endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial cancer. Birth control pills decrease the risk of both but they also increase sex hormone binding globulin and thus decrease the levels of available androgens (male hormones) and so treat other symptoms like hair growth and acne and can even help the insulin resistance.
