More than neosporin: if you can, take some nsaids like motrin or aleve (naproxen) to reduce inflammation, as long as you arent allergic or can't tolerate it while ice packs are good...it might be too much. I would try a compress with room temp water instead neosporin can cause allergic reactions, just vasoline is good to start with
