? kidney infection: This may be just a stomach flu. But if your symptoms continue, you should be rechecked. If you have fevers or if you notice urinary symptoms such as painful urination or blood in your urine this is more likely. Kidney infections can be dangerous if untreated, leading to possible kidney damage. Stomach flu usually lasts about 24 hours whereas a kidney infection will continue.
