A member asked:

I want to know that dental resin fillings are only for minor fractured tooth? or is it also for severe fractured tooth?

Depends: Depends on the tooth and the severity of the fracture. Also depends on the "mindset" of the patient and dentist. -- meaning a patient with a tooth fracture may choose to repair a tooth with resin due to a variety of reasons: such as cost, longevity of the tooth, possibly they have no tooth opposing the fractured tooth so it will not be under heavy bite forces to name a few.

Crown is stronger: Assuming that the tooth is restorable, a crown/cap/cover over the entire tooth would be stronger than a resin filling.
