Cold sores: also known as fever blisters are pretty common and lots of people get them. They are clusters of small blisters on the lip and outer edge of the mouth. Cold sores normally go away on their own within 7 to 10 days. Use petroleum jelly or olive oil to soften the scab and keep it from cracking and bleeding.

This does not sound: like a cold sore. Those are caused by the Herpes virus and occur on the outside of the lips/mouth, not inside. It sounds like you have a canker sore (aphthous ulcer), which some people do get recurrently, caused by change in hormone levels, stress, some medications and can have a genetic component. It also could be that you bit the inside of your mouth at first or accidentally irritated or bit a sore.
