A member asked:

Can a radiologist see if a cyst is abnormal or the kind of cyst with a pelvic ultrasound?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes to a degree: Ultrasound is commonly used to classify Cysts in the Ovary. This reflects the risk of a cyst being benign versus Cancerous. The size of the cyst and whether it it has any solid components in addition to fluid increases the risk of it being cancerous. Your gynecologist should guide you further.
