Chia Seeds: Chia seeds are a an unprocessed, whole-grain food that can be absorbed by the body. They contain healthy omega-3 fatty acids, carbohydrates, protein, fiber, antioxidants, and calcium. Two clinical trials examined heart health and body weight and found no effect on weight loss. Given their nutritional properties, they may benefit heart health. More research needed in this area.
