After?: Do you mean at the same visit, or at some point in the future? Timing and placement of implants depends on many factors, including (but not limited to) residual bone, infection, available space, occlusion, etc. For best advice ask your Family Dentist, the person that knows your circumstances best.

Depending on amount of bone loss caused by infection and during tooth removal. If sufficient bone remains and with absence of infection, immediately after extraction an implant with possible bone graft can be done. Whether implant can be placed should be left to the surgeon that is doing the surgery.

Implant and extract: When you extract a tooth it is important to re establish the proper bite or occlusion. The best way to do this is by placing a implant! without replacing the tooth, teeth shift and change the bite! this can lead to jaw pain and tooth loss!
