Second Opinion: If you feel that your dentist has not diagnosed you correctly, then it would be wise to get a second opinion from another dentist in your area. In this way you will have peace of mind that there is no problem, or you will begin therapy for a problem that really exists. All the best...

See a periodontist: It is very important to see a periodontist if you experience any of the symptoms of gingivitis or other periodontal disease. A periodontist is a dentist specializing in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gum disease and alveolar bone resorption.

Dark red: When you say you doctor said it's OK, did you mean your Dentist or Physician. If you are not comfortable with what you have been told, and as you say the problem is persistent, seek a second opinion with a Periodontist, a gum/bone specialist.
