See your dentist: You may consider seeing your dentist for an evaluation and also a dental cleaning. A good deep cleaning probably will resolve the redness and swelling of the gums.

See your Dentist: As a diabetic you are prone to gum disease even if you are well controlled. See your dentist, get everything cleaned and under control and consider more frequent cleanings to compliment excellent home care.
