Not nodal: A 3.5 cm node in the jugulo- digastric muscle region is near the posterior belly of the digastric and should easily be palpable. There are 2 structures there that are not nodal, that is the tail of the parotid and a portion of the submaxillary gland. These can be mistaken for a node on US but overlooked as part of normal anatomy on CT.

A Good clinical exam: ....Exam will help. This node can be easily palpated by any experienced doctor. Unless the physical exam shows presence of an enlarged node in this area, I am inclined to disregard the Ultrasound(report),which can often give false abnormalities. I would rely on doctors hands first and foremost. The imaging test of choice would be CT scan of the neck.
