Simple treatment: Gotta disagree with doctor's answer. Healing involves inflammation (redness, warmth, pain and swelling) which are natural and integral parts of healing. Using medicines that are anti-inflammatories such as topical steroids will slow down the healing. For better or worse, the itching is while inconvenient, a natural part of healing in that area. Use a good skin cream or burn ointment.
