Brain fog is: associated w/depression, as is lack of energy and concentration. IQ does not lower, but our ability to us our intelligence does temporarily. Please get treatment, not only medicine. See Feeling Good, a book by David Burns. Peace and good health.

Yes: While depression does not reduce one's natural intellectual ability, if you were to take an IQ test during a state of depression it would almost surely be a lower score than otherwise. Depression interferes with normal cognitive abilities.

Depression: Memory impairment and concentration problems are common symptoms of depression. An effective response from and anti-depressant such as SSRI can rapidly help, and effective therapy is usually extremely helpful. But not "TV" therapy. A therapist should not just sit and listen--you should actually see measurable positive change from therapy!
