Complexity?: An Oral Surgeon has more training and experience in removing teeth than a Periodontist, GP, or any other type of Dentist. If it is a simple straight forward extraction, either can perform it competently. If there are any mediating circumstances, opt for the Oral Surgeon.

Either: an oral surgeon is specifically trained in extractions among other skills but in your case either may be just as appropriate depending on the particulars. If you are more comfortable with one over the other discuss it with them to answer all your questions

Not even close: Oral surgeon is BY FAR, a better choice for extracting molars. In terms of training, experience, minimization of complications, and the ability to sedate if desired. For best results, make sure you are evaluated and treated by a board certified oral & maxillofacial surgeon.
