Which/dose: If this is a multi vitamin and with appropriate doses for his weight, then not harmful. We try to get most children to take vitamins in the form of vegetables and milk. Check www.healthykids.com all the best.

Why take any ???: If these are advised by the doc, I can see giving them, but most are never needed in a healthy child. It is exceedingly difficult for a kid in the US to be vitamin deficient, given the supplementation of most foods they eat. Most excess vitamins are peed out of the body daily, yet some of the fat soluble vitamins like AED & K can store and cause problems if taken in excess.
