How high?: If he just has a low grade temp (less than 100.5 degrees F), and you think you see new teeth coming in, you can use over the counter teething gel, Tylenol, (acetaminophen) and watch him for a few days. But if his temp is higher than that, he may have an ear infection or other illness that needs treatment and you should have him examined.

Perhaps bring to doc: Teething is a very emotionally tolling time, which can lower your son's immune system and therefore indirectly be linked to a fever. When kids are young they tend to contract many types of infections, it's all part of the process of acquiring immunity. I'd suggest you bring him to your physician if the fever persists for more than two days in order to insure it's not a severe infection.

Need more info: need more information to give you an accurate assessment. How old is your son? When you say the temp is increasing, what do you mean? Does he have a fever or just feel warm? consider a live consult through HealthTap prime or concierge to get a full assessment. Good luck!
