A member asked:

16 month old, cranky, crying in sleep, 99.9 temp, not a big appetite, top molars have a piece coming through gums. is this teething related or sick?

Top molars : Coming in with decreased appetite and fussiness may just be from teething . This is normal. Supportive treatment only. Unless with temperature spike, increased irritability, decreased voids , vomiting and not playful ,then it is time to go see your Pediatrician!

Both: Could be teething, a cold, allergies, or any combination of the above. Note that 1st Dental appt should coincide w 1st b'day, so your child is overdue. See a Pediatric Dental specialist instead of GP for same reasons you see a Pediatric Medical Specialist instead of GP.
