Usually not: umbilical hernias are not usually the cause of the gas pain, especially if easily reducible. See your pediatrician for confirmation.

No, probably not.: Umbilical hernias don't usually cause pain, especially in babies. I would recommend that you speak to his pediatrician to see what else might be causing the pain.

Unlikely: Most of these will disappear as the kid approaches walking and never cause pain. In the rare episodes when they do they it usually reflects bowel trapped outside the body that progress continuously & will rarely stop without emergency treatment.Fussy kids wail from their diaphragm which pushes out on their belly & makes it hard.Hernias will appear bigger when they do.
