I've been having migraines for past 4 days. its on the side of my head. i taken gabapentin, excedrin, imitrex, pamelor, topamax (topiramate). what else can i take?

Advice: Pamelor and topirimate can prevent future headaches, gabapentin usually does not help at all here. Once headache present for several hrs, Imitrex (sumatriptan) no longer works. You might benefit from Cambia or Dolovent, so, ask your doctor to assist you. Avoid ER, as not the best or cheapest choice.

Try Magnesium: Try Magnesium daily for prevention, plus lots of hydration. You can apply ice to the area 20 mins on, 20 mins off. Massage to the neck, shoulders and scalp can be helpful, and also taking a warm bath. I have also found botox injections to be helpful, or lidicaine injections to the nerves at the base of the scalp. Hopefully you've been instructed about diet & smoking, etc.
