By choice: Patient preference is best. Those who find it makes them tired may wish to take it at night. Those who find it activating may take it in the morning. But, it's important to take at same time each day.

Morning: Lexapro (escitalopram) tends to be considered an activating SSRI, so for most people it is best given in the mornings.
