Lexapro (escitalopram): Start by taking Lexapro (escitalopram) at a time that best fits your routine. Usually meds that might be sedating (make you sleepy) are better taken at bedtime while those that may be more stimulating are better taken in the morning. Lexapro (escitalopram) generally is neither. Just be consistent and take it about the same time every 24 hours to maintain a therapeutic blood level. Hope this helps .

YOur choice: Typically, at a starting dose, it makes no difference. It is a matter of your convenience. It is not common, but for some, a starting dose contributes to some tiredness -- so they take it before bed.
