Probably ok: Some people with panic disorder seem to have a particular sensitivity to caffeine, in that small amounts result in anxiety, if not panic itself. As long as you are not one of them, then moderate caffeine is ok. However, benzodiazepines are probably best only in the short run, as panic disorder and agoraphobia are better treated with alternative mediations over time. Consult your psychiatrist.

Therapy?: Have you yet tried any form of psychotherapy? Typically, the optimal combination of things to treat emotional issues such as anxiety or depression is medication (which, on your best day, is supposed to take the edge off symptoms) but the real gruntwork takes place in psychotherapist's consulting room.

I agree to focus only on medicines/substances is problematic. Exploring behavioral changes can help and the long term benefits are there without the long term complications that arise from benzos. I suggest seeking specialized care for your average pcp is generally ill prepared to provide the comprehensive care indicated.
