Depends: Everybody is different . There is no size of plan fits all. Benzodiazepines have a more immediate effect. SSRI take 4-6 weeks to have full effect for anxiety and depression. Dosages have to be titrated and adjusted. Very often a combination of both medications are used, frequently with therapy.

For panic disorder w/ agoraphobia & gad. Currently take xanax (alprazolam). Cannot tolerate ssris, gabbapentin or lamotragine. Is there anything else?
