Begin Now.: Arch pain with a stretching sensation is almost always identified with a condition called plantar fasciitis. The action of walking is actually the trauma associated with this condition. Treatment in the earlier stages is easier and more successful than letting it get worse. Rest it as much as possible, wear shoes that are comfortable and provide support. Do not go bare foot. Ice and/or heat helps.
