A member asked:

What is liver mets with necrotic centre ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Loss of viability: When tumors metastasize to the liver, their surface glycoproteins determines that they grow only in a liver ferritin substrate and cant metastasize elsewhere. The lesion will grow since its main blood supply is hepatic artery where liver parenchyma is fed by the portal system. As the lesion enlarges , the hepatic blood supply is unable to reach the center of the tumor and necrosis appears
