Colon mass: Cheryl, this is difficult to answer. If you have a biopsy diagnosis of colorectal carcinoma, then the liver lesion may represent a metastasis. It could also represent only a liver hemangioma. Only a liver biopsy of the lesion is definitive. Red cell tagging studies sometimes can be definitive noninvasive study for liver hemangioma but does not have 100% sensitivity and may give false negative.
