3rd molar extraction: post-operative pain from wisdom teeth extraction is usually pretty normal. However excruciating pain could be a sign of something else most possibly a dry socket I suggest a return and check with the dentist that perform the procedure

Increasing pain?: A dry socket is a term used to describe a situation in which there is an inadequate clot maintained in the extraction site. This can result from poor blood supply to the area, smoking after the extraction was done, rinsing your mouth before 24 hours, drinking acidic juices, brushing with tooth paste..very basic and soapy can break down the clot, exercising too soon, drinking through a straw.
