Lifestyle choices: add up to better or not so good health and fitness. If you have the time and money you can see a personal trainer at a gym. Otherwise, regular exercise, good diet, avoid junk food, social support, give up grudges, all help. Peace and good health.

In 400 characters...: cardiovascular exercise most days of the week, small more frequent meals, 50 grams of fiber daily, plenty of water so urine is almost clear, six to nine hours of sleep nightly, don't smoke, don't drink too much alcohol, don't talk on your cellphone while driving, complex carbohydrates, lean protein sources, keep weight healthy, don't do drugs, obey the speed limit. Did I miss anything?

Getting fit: 31 year old gentleman with a question about getting fit. That is an excellent question. One must take control of one's diet first and foremost. The NIH has several online resources on eating a healthy diet. Exercise is another component. See your MD and get cleared for an exercise program then consult a personal trainer if possible. Mix cardiovascular and strength training. Good luck.
