FDA says 3,200mg/d: Of course, i can't vouch for australia where you live, so you really need to ask someone local to you. But in general, you can get good info at www.Drugs.Com (free) or www.Epocrates.Com (free w/registration or pay for extras). Other considerations are your stomach & kidneys. Despite fda max dose, some w/sensitive stomach eg ulcers or chronic kidney disease can't tolerate higher doses.
