Should there be puss coming from the dry socket dressing? and is it normal for it to bleed and the dressing still be there 7 days later.

Speak with dentist: Purulent exudate, if evident is a sign of infection. See the dentist or oral surgeon immediately for an evaluation. Was an antibiotic given and not followed through? The dentist that performed the extraction will be able to advise you.

It is possible: If you suffer from dry socket, you also have an increased risk of infection. The dressing may be changed as often as everyday or as infrequently as every 3-6 day. It usually takes about 7 to 14 days for the healing process to finalize.
