Not great combo: Concomitant administration of clonazepam (Klonopin) and carbamazepine (Tegretol) resulted in a 22% increase in clonazepam clearance and a 20.5% decrease in carbamazepine clearance. Carbamazepine is well known to induce its own metabolism as well as the metabolism of other meds making it difficult to manage. Consult provider. Bottom line - Klonopin is not likely to raise Tegretol levels.
