My dr is switching me from 1mg of ativan 3x daily to 1 mg of klonopin (clonazepam) 2x daily does this make sense...also take 600 tegretol?

Yes: Both are benzodiazepines klonopin (clonazepam) is longer acting, more potent, has anticonvulsant effects & is easier to wean off of.
