A member asked:

How does tegretol speed up the metabolism of klonopin (clonazepam) and make it less effective?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tegretol stimulates : The liver enzyme called cytochrome p450 3a4 . Clonopin is also metabolized in the liver by the same enzyme. When this enzyme becomes stimulated the clonopin is metabolized more rapidly and your Klonopin (clonazepam) level subsequently drops. Best wishes.
