Lip biting is common: self-inflicted lip trauma is a complication of dental treatment involving local anesthesia. You can't feel that you are doing damage to the numb lip. Fortunately, it always heals up within a few days without complications. Take care.

I would: Be a little concerned for the very reasons you mentioned. If you smoke or chew tobacco, I would be even more concerned! It may just be some post traumatic changes in your lip from biting it, although since I cannot see the patch, I cannot make that call. It is best to see your Dr or Dentist to verify the cause. Try to avoid biting your lip also!
