It may not: While Fairlite is advertised to treat melasma or the darkening of skin from the overproduction of the pigment melanin, this is likely not the mechanism for a dark spot scar from a pimple. The pimple dark spot results from inflammation. Another drug, topical hydroquinone is advised possibly followed by topical retinoids (Retin-A like creams)--may need prescriptions. Good luck!

Maybe???: Per Fairlite 's web site. The cream is used to prevent Melasma and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. "In Fairlite, phenylethyl Resorcinol, one of the potent tyroninase inhibitors prevents hyper production of melanin by melanocytes. Nonapeptide -1 prevents hormone mediated hyperpigmentation. Aminoethyl Other ingrediants and antioxidants SPF 50." So maybe give it a try. or see Dermatologist
