Yes and no: Renova (tretinoin) is tretenoin isis for acne both pimples and blackheads and whiteheads. It is also used to treat fine wrinkles. It does not do much for dark spots. Theoretically if the spot is superficial and it is used for a long time it might peel away at the spot to help some but don't hold your breath.

Perhaps: Renova (tretinoin) is a cream that encourages desquamation - or removal of the outer most layers of the skin. This is best for sun and age damage of the skin and may stimulate the skin to replenish damaged collagen and elastic fibers in the skin. This might lighten some dark spots but you may get a better result with a fading cream such as eldoquin.
