Repeat Pap may be ok: The abnormality on the Pap smear may be so minor that your doctor feels you could simply repeat the Pap smear in 3-6 months and avoid the discomfort and expense of colposcopy. Cervical cancer is one of those conditions where you really have time to observe what will happen, especially with a low grade abnormality. Your doctor probably wants to give you all the options--a good idea:)
