A member asked:

I have been having gallbladder pain. my ultrasound was normal. i am getting an hida scan. my alkaline phosphatase is 140. could this be my gallbladder?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Its possible: For the HIDA scan, ask you doctor if it is a CCK induced HIDA. If not, ask if it is possible to do this test rather than a plain HIDA. When you get it, pay attention to whether or not the CCK administration (its a GI hormone) reproduces your pain. If it does, odds are its your gallbladder. Hope this helps!
