Need more info.: It is sometimes difficult to evaluate how serious pancreatitis is, and it requires not only amylase and lipase results, but also the results of other labs and usually a CAT scan, in addition to physical exam results. If your doctor suggests hospital admission, you should follow through. Good luck.
