Ive had left flank pain and severe nausea, vomiting. All bloods normal except one of the enzymes is elevated associated with pancreatitis. What does it mean if only 1 of the two enzymes is elevated? Its either lipase or amylase that is elevated?
Nausea for 1.5mo, doc ordered serum amylase (normal at 40 U/L) & lipase, which was borderline low at 11 U/L (8-78 U/L reference range). Suggestive of chronic pancreatitis? Info online unclear about significance of borderline low lipase. Thanks?
Amylase was 208 U/L (ref range 31-110) and lipase was 253 U/L (ref range 13-78). CT of pancreas was normal but have symptoms like nausea, fatty stools, fatigue and weight loss with extreme thirst. Could it be chronic pancreatitis instead of acute?
How likely is it that I have pancreatitis without pain? Does any raise in lipase and amylase mean pancreatitis?
Lipase 490 then drop to 28 in 30 hours.amylase 72 checked after 10 hours of admission.no pain. Is this pancreatitis?
