A member asked:

If you are an intermediate metabolizer (cyp2d6), how does that translate to food? what to eat, what to avoid?

No changes: It is not recommended to make diet choices based on cyp2d6 status (even fruit juices ok). This enzyme does metabolize 20-30% of medications. Other medications can be inhibiting. Knowing these medications and telling your doctor about your status may help streamline dosing decisions in the future. See: http://www.pharmacytimes.com/publications/issue/2008/2008-07/2008-07-8624
